Central Avenue Pedestrian Street/St. Sophia Cathedral/Flood Control Monument - 5-Bedroom Apartment for Rent | Relaxing Time

Because we booked late and had a large group with many requests, our choices were limited, and we ended up with some disappointing experiences. These photos were taken hastily when we were in a hurry to leave; in reality, there were countless unclean areas like these, and the photos don't show how dirty they were. The house was incredibly old. There were several small holes in the walls, the pillows were yellowed, and some walls near the beds were extremely dirty, with large black patches. Several rooms lacked charging ports near the beds, the air conditioners were very old, and two of the remotes were malfunctioning; we even thought they were out of power. Surprisingly, neither the living room nor the secondary room where the mahjong table was located had air conditioning. There was also a very small room without air conditioning. This small room, which was originally supposed to be a storage room, not only had no window, but also a door that wouldn't close (leading to a small equipment room). It was terrifying, an incredibly stuffy room, unsuitable for anyone to sleep in. The guesthouse had a strong smell when we first entered, probably due to cleaning—a musty smell mixed with disinfectant. We went out and opened the windows for an afternoon, and it got a little better when we returned. We were a group of 7-8 people, spending around 100 RMB per person. It was cheap, but not as good as a hotel (around 150 RMB). Saving 50 RMB for such poor conditions was a huge waste. One reason we chose this guesthouse was to play mahjong together, but the table and tiles were incredibly old… large stains on the table and the tiles were worn black. Honestly, if we hadn't already booked and weren't facing the unacceptable situation of not getting a refund or only half-refund, we wouldn't have stayed. Regarding the host's service, check-out was at 12 PM, with no extra time allowed. We were likely to be late due to traffic and wanted to ask if we could check out a few minutes later. The host charged 80 RMB per hour for an extra hour, claiming it would affect future bookings. Aside from the fact that bookings were already online, I don't understand what a few minutes would affect (including cleaning). In short, I wouldn't recommend it. It might be an option for large groups on a budget. The advantage is its proximity to Central Street; it's just a short walk downstairs.

Everything went smoothly, the accommodation was great, and the main street was right outside. After a long day of shopping, we could rest in our room, and then continue our shopping spree! 😆😆

I stayed for two days. The room was spacious, well-equipped, and the landlady provided excellent service.
