First, the pros: the room was very clean, fully equipped, and cooking was very convenient. The location was excellent, very close to the subway station and easy to get to the Bund. The security guard downstairs was also very friendly. Now for the cons: after booking, we were added to a dedicated concierge group, but everyone in the group seemed less dedicated to their job than I was. About two weeks before check-in, the landlord changed our room type without consulting us!! They might have changed it even earlier without us knowing!! We only found out when we noticed the room was fully booked on the platform and inquired. The changed room type lost the open balcony I originally wanted. Since it was close to Chinese New Year, all the other rooms I had saved were booked, so we had no choice but to accept the change. Two days before check-in, I discovered that the room for the day after ours was booked. Because we had previously discussed luggage storage with the landlord, I immediately asked again if we could store our luggage until 3 pm, and received a positive answer. However, the day before check-out, they informed us: no, because we had a guest, our luggage could only be left at the door. Why did you tell me I could store my luggage in the room after I already knew I had a reservation? And why did you only tell me the day before check-out that I couldn't store my luggage anymore? Is it so difficult to notify me as soon as I have a reservation?
