The service was terrible. We booked this apartment because we were traveling in a group. I kept asking how to check in, but they didn't reply at first. Later, after we landed at 10 PM, we asked again and finally got a reply asking us to add them on WeChat. They then sent a chat history with many pictures showing how to retrieve the card, but the pictures were disjointed and numerous, so we said it was too annoying and complicated. The host on WeChat then sarcastically said we should stay in a hotel instead of a guesthouse, and that she wouldn't refund our money if we didn't accept their rules. She repeated this, saying our poor manners offended her. It ended when I asked if we should apologize. Since it was almost midnight, and we had a child and a lot of people, we couldn't find another place, so we politely agreed to check in. The lighting in the hallway and from the door was very dim. In my room, there were socks left by a previous guest in the bathroom, bottle caps on the bed (the host admitted to the bottle caps), and hair in the blanket. We reported this to the host, but they ignored us. I didn't ask about the other rooms; it was too late, so we all went to sleep. The apartment I booked was actually a guesthouse, and this kind of atmosphere hit me as soon as I arrived in Harbin. It really undermines Harbin's tourism and cultural promotion efforts.

The guesthouse has a great location, right across from Zhaolin Park (the predecessor of the "Ice and Snow World"), and just a short walk from Central Street. There are also many restaurants and supermarkets nearby. The host is very easy to communicate with and responds promptly to any questions.
